What is CBD?
This is one of the most common questions we are asked at CBD Pure Oils.
CBD (short for cannabidiol) is a chemical compound that is found within the Cannabis Sativa plant. There are over 100 cannabinoid’s found within the Cannabis plant, one of which is CBD which doesn’t make you ‘high’, as opposed to one of the other cannabinoid’s called THC which does. CBD Oil is made by extracting CBD from the Cannabis plant, then diluting it with a carrier oil, e.g., hemp seed oil or coconut oil.
It is believed that CBD oil works with our own body’s endocannabinoid system to create harmony when regulating and balancing the many processes within our body. These can include pain sensation, mood, sleep, and lots more. This goes a long way to explain CBD’s potentially wide-ranging usage and immense popularity that is gaining momentum all the time.
There are three main types of CBD on the market. They consist of Isolate which contains only CBD with no other Cannabinoid’s. Full spectrum, this contains all Cannabinoid’s naturally found in the plant including low levels of THC (no more than 0.2%). Lastly Broad-spectrum which contains multiple Cannabinoid’s also found in the plant, but doesn’t contain THC.
At CBD Pure Oils, all our oils are all full spectrum CBD, meaning that you have the benefit of the whole Cannabis plant, together with all Cannabinoids and Terpenes.
What are Cannabinoid’s?
These are active compounds which account for most of the benefits associated with the plant. They interact with specific receptors within different parts of the central nervous system. Simply put, Cannabinoid’s regulate how cells communicate, how they send, receive or process messages.
What are Terpenes?
Terpenes are essential oils which are found in plants. These give CBD Oil it’s distinct flavour and taste. They have beneficial effects and work synergistically with other Cannabinoid’s like CBD. This partnership is called the entourage effect. There is good evidence suggesting that Terpenes have direct physiological effects on the body, especially for linalool and limonene (different types of Terpenes). This means that linalool-rich strains are likely to have a calming effect, and are possibly able to provide pain relief, while limonene rich strains are likely to be mood elevating.
Extracting the CBD
At CBD Pure Oils we are proud of the unique procedure that surrounds our extraction process.
Our manufacturer’s facility in the South East of England have pioneered a new THC removal technique which has the ability to remove unwanted compounds and impurities at a molecular level, whilst allowing our CBD oils to maintain maximum potency levels. This in turn enable’s us to continually produce the purest CBD Oil in the UK today.
Choosing the right strength of CBD.
Everybody is different! We always recommend that if you are new to the world of CBD, to start at our entry level Pure 250 and if need be, to then find the level that suits you. However, if you are experienced in the world of CBD, our Pure 500 may be a better starting point. All of our products are clearly labelled, enabling you to be confident in the products we supply.
Is CBD Legal?
The answer is YES!!
CBD is a food supplement and is 100% legal in the UK. This is providing that the CBD contains less than 0.2% of THC (tetrahydrocannabinoid). We therefore encourage you to always purchase your CBD products from a trusted and reliable company, who can provide Lab reports to substantiate this important legal requirement. Not all companies are able to do this, so research before you buy is an absolute must.
Are there any side effects?
CBD oil is considered to be a reliable product to use in promoting a healthy lifestyle. Evidence would suggest that any side effects when using CBD Oil are extremely rare. In this unlikely event of this happening, which may include include feelings of increased tiredness, or a loose tummy, we would recommend that you reduce your dosage so that your body can adjust to the CBD.
