FAQ's
CBD stands for Cannabidiol, and is one of over 100 chemical compounds known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, Cannabis Sativa.
THC stands for Tetrahydrocannabinol and is the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis that causes the sensation of getting “high” that’s often associated with marijuana. Our CBD Pure oils are classified as Full Spectrum and THC free due to a pioneering new THC removal process that only leaves trace molecules in the final product - a first of its kind to the market.
CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant, then diluting it with a carrier oil like hemp seed oil or coconut oil.
Cannabinoids are active compounds produced by all cannabis plants. They account for most of the benefits of cannabis. Cannabinoids found in plants are technically called phytocannabinoids, while cannabinoids produced by the human body are called endocannabinoids. Cannabinoids interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which supports and maintains homeostasis.
Terpenes are essential oils found in plants. There are around 100 terpenes in cannabis and they are what give cannabis its distinct aroma and flavour. Terpenes have beneficial effects and work synergistically with cannabinoids like CBD and THC – this relationship is called the entourage effect.
The Entourage Effect describes the process where all parts of the Cannabis plant work together to increase effectiveness within our bodies which helps maximise CBD oil’s beneficial effects. The combination of compounds produces a stronger influence than any individual one in what is called a ‘synergistic effect.’ This is why Full Spectrum CBD oil is so effective.
Bioavailability is the percentage of the substance absorbed into the bloodstream after it is fully processed throughout the body. Sublingual use of CBD (by placing the oil under your tongue) has a high percentage of bioavailability as it is absorbed through the mucous membranes, which then enters the bloodstream directly.
Yes - CBD is considered safe to use and there is still much needed research to discover the full benefit of this food supplement. It is important to be fully aware of our products ingredients, which is why all of our range clearly display all ingredients and contain details of our thorough testing process.
CBD comes in various forms: Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum and Isolate.
Full-spectrum CBD is made with an extract that contains all or nearly all of the compounds naturally present in the cannabis plant. It has all the terpenes, cannabinoids, flavonoids, and fatty acids found in hemp. Since each comes with a wide range of health benefits, the overall effect from full-spectrum CBD can be greater.
CBD Isolate. This only contains CBD. Pure and simple. This crystalline powder contains 99% pure CBD. The above-mentioned waxes, fats, and chlorophyll have been removed. You also won’t find any terpenes in isolate.
Broad Spectrum (often called “distillate”) is in between the two and is normally “THC free” but still contains some of the other Cannabinoids.
Yes, CBD is a food supplement and is 100% legal in the UK. CBD products are not considered controlled substances, therefore there are no restrictions on their use.
No, it’s THC in marijuana that gets you “high”. Our products contain no THC but retain the full benefits of Full Spectrum CBD Oil due to the technological advances our manufacturers have made in their extraction processes.
The answer is no. An addiction to marijuana develops out of a person’s reliance on the psychoactive effects of THC – the ingredient in the marijuana plant which causes a high. CBD comes from an entirely different plant – the hemp plant. An addiction to CBD is not considered to be possible.
Due to the high amount of blood vessels under the tongue it is recommended to let the CBD oil sit there for 1 to 2 minutes, this allows the oil to absorb directly into the bloodstream increasing the bio availability of the CBD.
No – you should not take CBD if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or on medication.
